ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in a small refinery town on the Texas coast, surrounded by a circle of talented artisans, craftsmen, and musicians who deeply influenced my journey into the arts. From an early age, I felt destined to explore every creative discipline that sparked my imagination. My work has spanned diverse art media over the years: textiles and art-to-wear clothing, large-scale three-dimensional tapestry, stained glass, and sculptural ceramics.
In recent years, I’ve shifted my focus toward fluid painting, particularly acrylic pours—a process that has captivated me like no other. This practice has become a driving force in my creative life, allowing me to experience moments of simple, wordless beauty in an increasingly monotonous and technological world. My work is inspired by a deep love of nature, a lifelong commitment to Zen practice, and a desire to share reflective or transcendent experiences with viewers—each of whom will have a unique and personal response to the flow and vibration of colors and forms.
ABOUT FLUID ACRYLIC PAINTING
Fluid pouring is a dynamic abstract-painting technique, typically employing acrylic paints and inks because they dry quickly and can be easily thinned to varying viscosities. The paint may be poured, layered, dumped, swirled, blown and/or tilted as it is applied; resulting in singular and unrepeatable expressions of chaotic beauty. The technique can be applied to all kinds of surfaces, including canvas, wood, and everyday objects made from other materials.
